Dating Guide: Savannah
I love visiting Savannah, I always receive a warm welcome and even if I didn’t I would probably come down just for the food. I’m serious! I often feel like Im not there long enough to try all of the places that the city has to offer but I wouldn’t want to wear out my welcome. In this entry I will include several of my favorite restaurants as well as general haunts in the Savannah area, I love company so maybe we can plan to check some of these places out together. Now I know I’m missing some favorites and that can be attributed to a couple of reasons, namely that this list can’t go on forever or that I just haven’t tried them yet! Unfortunately, eating isn’t usually my top priority when visiting so I have to do some picking and choosing.
This is a small museum but the collection is quite impressive. You can bang it out pretty quickly but I love sitting in the center atrium soaking in the amazing Baroque playlist and obsessing over one particular painting. You’ll have to join me if you want to know which one.
Not only is this a place a great place to get a coffee or a pastry, it is a really fun place to rummage around. They have an amazing curated collection of gifts on the ground floor, from jewelry to baby items, soaps, and perfumes but in the basement they have a great collection of random antiques and whimsical house wears. If I owned a house and had an endless bank account I could do some damage here!
This place is great and full of all sorts of oddities and fabulous books and clothing. It’s definitely for the more goth inclined but you could easily spend an afternoon poking around here. It seems they’ve started to carry some unique furniture pieces so I guess I may have to bring a bigger suitcase this time…
A great place to grab a coffee or some other drink! They carry a selection of craft beers and I tried a great mead here once. I love small, local coffee joints and this one with it’s cute little mascot just tickles me. Btw, I take cream and no sugar in my morning iced coffee ;)
I found this place thanks to an uber driver who said he picks up a ton of uber eats orders from here. I’m glad he spoke up because I love this place! It’s a great spot for lunch, having fresh, cool, sushi rolls paired with incredibly unique cocktails. It’s also usually full of eye candy if you know what I mean.
Once upon a time I was wandering around the city during the afternoon and I smelled something wonderful. I followed my nose like a cartoon character being summoned by the scent of a freshly baked pie and found this joint. I made sure to be there at opening and I did not regret it. This food was so good I brought my leftovers with me to my next city one time and I never leave a crumb when there are leftovers! They have a bar around the corner that I’ve yet to try but I this place really excites me.
Out of all the places I have listed, this is the one that’s tops for me. It was the first place I ever booked (or even ate in) in Savannah. If you love trying strange meats this is the place for you. They always have appetizers featuring alligator meat and they have a rotating game menu which will feature items such as antelope steaks. I’ve never had a bad meal and have had some great nights here!
Also if the Daniel Defense factory does another open-to-the-public tour again I’d be *very* curious…
